Anesthesia, Attempt to remove pellet present in left tarsometarsal area and left foot: Patient placed under general Isoflurane anesthesia via mask induction and mask maintenance at 3% Isoflurane and 2 L/min oxygen flow rate. The left tarsometarsus was prepared for surgery using chlorhexidine scrub and alcohol. A small, 6 mm longitudinal incision was made in the area of the mid medial metatarsus with #15 blade through dermis. Small hemostats were used to probe the area and explore to see if the metallic round shot could be located. With gently explore of the area it was not possible to locate the shot. Closure with 4-0 PDS with simple interrupted sutures for dermal layer only. No external bandage applied. The metallic shot present in the digit area was not attempted to be retrieved as it was not able to be palpated at all externally. Patient recovered rapidly from general anesthesia.
